Thoughts on The Grammy's and Being A Failure

For some reason I put being a failure as the second part of the title, but as it turns out, it is the first thing I talk about. Talk about being a failure at organizing. Another thing I found out I failed at? Early celebration. Yes I know this all sounds convoluted, just wait for it. So the Computer Science program here at UW does not exactly grade things "quickly". I get it, I really do. The programs do probably take awhile to grade and there are a lot of 302 students. Normally I would not really care, but in this certain situation, it felt like a slap in the face. Today I got my grade back for the Ant Colony Optimization Program. (Yes it was exactly as exciting as it sounds). Ants and tunnels, pretty boring stuff. I worked pretty damn hard on it. Looking back at my notes from the assignment, they looks like the scribblings of a paranoid schizophrenic. Well, I was not all that impressed with my grade. I wont go into numbers, but let's just say one little mistake propagated into a lot of points marked off. I felt really confident about it when I turned it in. I was so confident and happy about being done with it that I grabbed my friends and went out for some celebratory Parkour, and well the rest is history (THAT IS HOW I BROKE MY BACK). In other words I probably should have waited to see my grade before celebrating. My not have spent my Halloween weekend in the Hospital.

Grammys.
I heard Skrillex is going to be nominated for Best Artist. Now don't get me wrong, I like me some Skrillex. But I think Best Artist is kind of a stretch. Supposedly Bon Iver is also getting nominated for Best Album (These are all rumors from Reddit's Ugly Sister Tumblr at this point). I get what the "Grammy People" are trying to do. I mean it is probably a good thing that they are expanding to all genres of music. And yet I can't help but to get a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing. I am just worried that they will take it too far. I was content with the way things were. The Grammy's did their thing with their music, and I did my thing. At the risk of sounding like an incredibly douchey hipster, I will say that I would rather not have all my favorite bands performing at the Grammys. In the end I guess it just goes to show that I just don't listen to obscure enough bands. Moral of the story... I failed again.

Thoughts on Organizing

I organized all day today. It felt a lot better than I think it should make someone feel. I laid out all my hats and shoes in rows, and color coordinated them. I was honestly a tad bit worried about how good it felt to be so organized. I am sure my mother would be very proud of me though. I think what happened was I sat on my futon all day and did homework while the Madison IronMan Triathlon was going on right outside my window. I felt like such a lazy slob... Also took a bike ride over to picnic point and the community gardens. What a surprise, it was all so beautiful. I saw a huge Red-Tailed Hawk and a little Cardinal. This place has everything. I feel like my blog has made a decisive switch from bitching about New Jersey to talking about how much I freaking love Wisconsin. I have fallen in love with Madison, Wisconsin, deeply in love. As a side not I had to watch a video lecture on ethics! stupid stupid stuff. These little situations they talk about never happen in real life, and the "rules" they set from the scare medicine situation and the rest never work in real life. I HATE IT!

Thoughts on DUMB (WITH FACTS!)

It's my break. I love watching the news, to see what is going on in the world. More importantly to see what bad stuff is going on (usually all news is bad, dramatic or exciting [not surprising, gotta entertain people these days]) Besides the end of News Corp, one down! five to go!. Some co-host is standing by a memorial for Caylee Anthony and she says, and this is a direct quote, "Standing here out front of the memorial. This is probably the saddest place on earth right now." Like holy shit.

Yah I bet aids probably got acquitted on most of those. So stop making such big deal about one persons death, 1000s of people die everyday. The entire country of Mexico is being torn apart at the seams and the majority of the African continent is in bloody civil war. Yah Casey got off, get over it. Maybe a giant earthquake will destroy Florida and cause serious radiation leakage. She will be one of the casualties. Yah then justice will be done, and Caylee will be avenged.

NEW YORK CRAPPY CELLPHONE PICTURE ADVENTURE

Hey it it time. I know have been slacking majorly but with the trip and Great Adventure and all the work I have been super exhausted and lazy. Here are the wonderful pictures from my trip to NYC to see The Bouncing Souls. It was an epic show, they are still pretty damn impressive for their age. I went to the 4th night of their show, they played every song they ever wrote over the span of 4 nights. Pretty epic.

Would not be pictures from a trip with out the obligatory picture of travel ticket. Am I right?

So they had this clever thing where it was like a boxing match between whatever albums were being played that night. They had the girls walking out and everything. Even Rocky theme song at one point inbetweeen.

Thoughts on Hypocrites

Well, Casey Anthony was acquitted on all the murder/manslaughter/child abuse charges today. I defiantly saw this coming, and you can ask my aunt if you don't believe me. She is a former lawyer, who lives in Orlando. She had fairly strong opinions about the whole thing, like most people who followed the case. I think the average person  is pretty furious as to the outcome of the whole thing, I also don't think the average person is very informed on the case, laws, and the way something like a capital murder case goes. Two things bother me about the way the average person responds to stuff like this. Firstly, they are shocked that she was found not guilty. They have seen the news and seen the pictures of poor Caylee. They want justice for this little girl, and the only person who really could have done it was Casey. SO HOW COULD SHE BE NOT GUILTY. Reasonable doubt it a term I think every person in this country could use a quick lesson on. While they are at it, perhaps brush up on their Innocent Until Proven Guilty. People in this country are so quick to convict and sentence a person before they even set foot in a court room. Doing this is both idiotic and pretty anti-American. We have the one of the best justice systems in the world, so don't spit on it by jumping to conclusions. The mob of cries for the death of Casey Anthony has grown to massive proportions through out the whole trial. Nancy Grace and others like her simply feed the fire, perpetuating the idea that Casey is obviously guilty, and is also evil and must get the death penalty. I think there was defiantly reasonable doubt clearly shown in the evidence, but I don't think that was the only thing that pushed the jury to their decision. I believe that they were very aware of public opinion, which was "Give  Casey the chair, she did it no doubt about it." I think they did not want to go along with the mob on this one. So in a way all the death mongering probably helped Casey in the end. Nothing like dumbasses helping sink their own ship. But for god sakes, she has been found not guilty, so saying stuff like "God, I hope someone kills her, she deserves to die," is idiotic and hypocritical. You hate her because you think she killed someone, and you suggest her being killed out side of legal process would be good. What you get to judge who deserves to live or die but she does not? The death penalty has its place, but perpetuating murder is just moronic. Stop being so dumb please.

Also, another thing a really really hate is when I am listening to some serious death metal or something, and someone is like "Oh my god what is this emo crap, turn it off, so emo." Cradle of Filth is not emo... So this is to show you what "emo" music is.

Thoughts on the End of the World

So the world ended today guys...JK
I guess that Camping guy was wrong, maybe he had been BSing the whole time just to get money out of people. I guess everyone that gave up their lives and all their money to "get into heaven" is pretty SOL. I guess if I was going to devote my whole life (no matter how long it "may" last) to something, I would probably at least read the book it is centered around. That is probably asking to much though. Even if they do read it, the part that clearly says you can't buy your way into heaven, people will still be dumb. It amazes me the ways that people interpret the bible, and what actions they justify through said interpretations. If this whole end of the world thing is not enough, how about the one where Bill Nye the Science Guy gets booed of stage somewhere in Texas. What did Mr. Nye do to get booed? He mentioned that the moon glows only because light from the sun is reflected off of it. BUT THE BIBLE SAID GOD MADE TWO LIGHTS SO YOUR WRONG. The moon generating it's own light...You can't explain that.
It always amazes me the level of stupidity existent in the general population of the world. Amazes me and saddens me as well. Speaking of awesome people, how about the shopping cart I found today filled with two zip lock bags full of half melted ice, ten to fifteen band-aid wrappers and some blood covered pieces of gauze. THANKS FOR LEAVING THAT FOR ME. Learned to use the motorized cart pusher today, pretty much the most BA thing a cart attendant can do. Another weekend has come and gone in wonderful Brick, NJ. Stay tuned, have a wonderful evening!
