NEW YORK CRAPPY CELLPHONE PICTURE ADVENTURE

Hey it it time. I know have been slacking majorly but with the trip and Great Adventure and all the work I have been super exhausted and lazy. Here are the wonderful pictures from my trip to NYC to see The Bouncing Souls. It was an epic show, they are still pretty damn impressive for their age. I went to the 4th night of their show, they played every song they ever wrote over the span of 4 nights. Pretty epic.

Would not be pictures from a trip with out the obligatory picture of travel ticket. Am I right?

An awesome shot of me stage diving..err...leaping. Took me a while to get crowd surfed op though. Dropped on my back before hand. Sucked.

There they are. In all their badassery. The Gold Album cover in background.

This guy. Tim Barry. Absolute Badass-Champion of the World-Hero of America. You heard his stuff early. He got down off stage and walked through the crowd playing. Tuff.

Picture of the crowd. Not quite sure how I got it.

Moar Tim Barry. He was a single guy with an acoustic guitar. Opening with a bunch of hardcore metal/punk bands. Singing about Virgina and stuff. Awesome.

BS again. Notice the sick Pirate Flag.

My last trip included a Times Square Picture but it was nighttime. I think this does it better justice. P.S. I cannot stand Time Square. Talk about sign pollution.

Like the subway like represents like life right and how like life has many different stops along the way, but there are only so many tracks you can follow man.

LOOK AT THE GARBAGE.

I love the "order" that these pictures are in. Completely backwards.

Look a Street. Isn't it neat?

Bryan doing the bass thing. Looking like a badass pirate

So they had this clever thing where it was like a boxing match between whatever albums were being played that night. They had the girls walking out and everything. Even Rocky theme song at one point inbetweeen.

More of them girls.

This is it. The door to the Fox News studio. All the stupidity and ridiculousness. It all happens here.

Big sign with all the rules and regs for the Fox studio. Some funny stuff in there.

This one. I don't know if you can read it but it says that no one in the studio may make false or defamatory remarks while in the studio. Because that is their job.
Another wonderful institution.

A hilarious sign outside the IRS. It goes up by about $10,000 a second. The bottom number is "Your family's share" if it were split evenly I guess. Either way we are effed.

Apparently this is like a classic motorcycle or something. My dad was all "take a picture." Well dad this one is for you.

Bye Bye NYC. See yah again real soon.

Thoughts on The Best Love/Hate Relationship I Have Ever Had

Wow...when you live in Brick Township, New Jersey and hop on a bus to a Bouncing Souls show in NYC, it is quite the shocker. I had a freaking blast. There were three opening acts which were all pretty good. One "band" consisted of one guy and an acoustic guitar. Not to disrespect the Bouncing Souls, cause the rocked. But I wanted to talk about Tim Barry I this post and then when I have time to upload all the pics I will delve into the awesomeness that is the Bouncing Souls. Anyways Tim Barry is a total champion. Guy walks on stage after a punk/hardcore band called Lost In Society. They were from Jersey and yah. Guy grabs the microphone and says something to the effect of "Gonna follow up the loud punk band with some guy singing fucking Kumbaya and stuff." After that he proceeded to play a mean guitar. Half way through his set he unplugs his guitar and jumps off the stage. Starts walking through the crowd hugging people and playing his song. He was laughing about coming from Richmond, Virgina up to crowded NYC. He complained about all the people, then said it was f**king exhilarating. At this point I love this guy, and then he goes "Who is from Jersey?? This song is about Jersey." Basically he made a song about what I complain about constantly. Made my freaking day. The show was just so awesome. So much anger and yet so much love, I no it sounds clique as hell, I love punk rock. I don't care if you define it differentially then me, or think the Bouncing Souls aren't punk or whatever. I think that my new definition of punk rock is angry people who just love each other. Nothing like a good mosh pit. Crowd surfing and stage diving. If you find me another thing that you can be at, get kicked clean in the face, and have an awesome time, I am all ears. Gonna eat some good pizza and pass out. Love you all.

Thoughts on The Bouncing Souls

Bouncing Souls. On Saturday, in NYC and then ay after that Six Flags Great Adventure. I am very excite. Just have to survive one more day in the desert wasteland that is Target parking lot. Seriously it was like a million and a half degrees plus humidity today. I almost died, could have cooked eggs on the sidewalk hot. Anywho I will be taking awesome pictures and stuff as usual. Otherwise it is early to bed early to rise push shopping carts all day and eat lots of french fries. Also, reddit has many comical casey anthony jokes to be found. No it is not to soon.

Thoughts on New York City

As promised, here comes the awesome New-York-City-Cellphone-picture-orama. I know you have all been waiting so patiently for it, so I am happy to oblige yall. So after after a particularly gnarly day of work involving deep puddles and shoes with holes in them. When I got done I hopped on the bus and headed for the big city.
I made these pics extra large to emphasize the low quality pictures my two year old phone. I am no photographer. Anyways, I think this may have been a picture of something important, but the bus was hauling ass so it turned out to be a random blur.  Moving on...

Time freaking Square. This place, for those you have never been, is absolutely overwhelming. I visited NYC once before as a child and have frankly some bad memories of it. Reasoning being I was a tiny little child and this is not the place for children. There are so many freaking people, lights, cars and street performers. Saw the "naked cowboy" which was interesting...?

Rockefeller Center, I am pretty sure. So yeah this is where they put up the huge Christmas tree and ice rink. I felt it was photo worthy. If you disagree then I suggest you scroll right on down.

This is the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel. It is the hotel that Delta puts their pilots in on layovers. Conveniently some of said Delta pilots have families who live very close by. Which all adds up to a win for ME! The interesting thing about the Roosevelt Hotel is that its owners are Pakistani. I am not getting into the whole Pakistan/USA thing, I just think it is very funny that a hotel in the USA's biggest city, named after a very famous US president, would be owned by Pakistanis. Go Melting Pot Theory!

View from outside the hotel room window. Eleven Floors up, creeping on the people in the office building next to us.

The Roosevelt Hotel....that is all.
Grand Central Station. This thing is a big freaking building. It is an absolute shocker to me that people where able to build such an impressive structure. Looks like a solid block of marble, the size of a city block was dropped there, and carved from the inside out.
Speaking of insanely large marble buildings, here is another one for ya. Now I do not want to argue of the utility or importance of buildings. But this monster is a post office. Yeah the US Postal Service Palace in New York City.
The Obligatory Empire State Building Picture.

Okay, so these posters are absolutely everywhere. I am quite certain that New York law requires them to be displayed. They say Choking Victim on them, and give a detailed description of how to preform the Himelick Maneuver. Now you may ask why this is photo worthy, and I must answer that you should listen to more of my music. Choking Victim is like my favorite ska-ish punk band. The band started in New York City and I always wondered where there name came from and I figured it out. THESE SIGNS ARE THE KEY!!! Anyways, I feel like a more legit Choking Victim fan now that I figures out the mystery of their name. Yeah I am kind of a big deal.

Cool mural on the side of a school in Chelsea area. Gotta feed the hipsters!

So I had some other pictures that did not quite make the cut. Other notable stops where Urban Outfitters #1 and Urban Outfitters #2. I was able to resist my temptations and only bought one tee-shirt. It is pretty snazzy. It rained most of the afternoon and my mom and I were umbrella-less. It made for a rather miserable time, but made due. The most amazing thing about New York had to be the food. I had delicious pizza (obviously), but also satisfied my taste buds with curry and fish tacos. Also found some great coffee and baked goods all for a great price. New York is a wonderful city, a lot cleaner and safer then it used to be. Check it out! and stop by wonderful Brick, New Jersey!

Kind of had to do this...

Thoughts on This Evenings News

So I am guessing most everybody reading this has already seen the news. Osama Bin Laden is dead, by the hands of US military. I cannot help but feel damn proud to be an American today. I do not agree with everything our country does, but this strike by our military is absolutely justified and all Americans involved in the strike should receive very high honors. Living so close to New York City, you can feel the pain and sorrow that still lingers here from the 9/11 attacks. I am pleased by the knowledge that many people in New York and Jersey have finally received the justice they deserved.

All that being said, I am also worried by this news. I hope that our country can heed President Obama's words, stop arguing about irrelevant and unimportant issues, *cough* birth certificate *cough* and start to focus on addressing some of the serious issues facing our country. I am also worried about retaliation by terrorists around the world. The USA, and the world have enough on its plate. Also, I have friends in Iraq and I am very worried about them.
God that was some serious stuff. How about some humor to lighten the mood. So being the slightly paranoid and over-reactive person I am, I freaked out a little bit this evening. My mom busts down my door around 10:00, tells me to shut off the video games. Dad just called, breaking news, Obama to speak, matter of National Security. So I am thinking worst-case scenario now, either USA being invaded by a foreign country or some kind of extra-terrestrials, (or Zombies-always a possibility). I am up in a flash, and I have a plan.

1.Tell Crispin- I was already on Skype with him so that was easy

2. Get ready- Grabbed some shoes and a sweatshirt; it is pretty warm here so I am good there. I then proceed to start filling the bathtub with water.

Now you may ask: Kyle, Why are you taking a bath right now?

Well, if it were WWIII, you never know when those water pipes might stop working. When the water does run dry, it would have been mighty nice to have a whole bathtub full of water to drink.

3. Get Information- Go to the living room, News is on, sit down and watch. CNN announces Bin Laden is dead. So now I feel kind of stupid, my mom is giving me a "wtf r u doin" face, asking me why I am all dressed to get in the bathtub. Turn bath water off, get some popcorn and sit down. Calm, Watch news.

Hokay guys Goodnight,

God Bless America!

For real though, Fuck Yah America

Thoughts on a Wonderful Day

It has been a wonderful day, Let me tell you. I awoke to another beautiful Florida morning, hopped in the car and drove on down to the airport to catch a plane. Everything was going smoothly, I sat down in seat 1A and began reading. From that point on it has been an unsuccessful day.

-Airplane brakes needed maintenance, hour and half of waiting
-Bus driver would only allow my Dad on employee bus to the parking lot in LaGuardia
-Traffic
-Traffic
-My mom got a migraine and I couldn't help
-Traffic
-Construction all over neighborhood....dirt pile in center of drive way
-All power outlets in my room no longer work

I am soooo glad to be back in the nice rainy weather. Drove through NYC, that place is so claustrophobic It makes my skin crawl just driving through it. I cannot think of any reason why anyone lives there, but I guess I live in Jersey, which is probably worse. Who knows....
I miss Florida already.

Thoughts on Flying to Florida

Woohoo, awesome, horrible quality, cell-phone slide show of my journey to Florida. Ready...Go!
That is me, looking all snappy for the flight, have to represent the McChesney family well. Driving through New York, getting honked at for having Montana plates.
That's New York City (some part of it) as seen from the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Great camera work going 70 miles per hour, if i don't say so myself.
Kind of a lame looking picture, but there is a story behind it. On the left are some Brooklyn Apartment buildings, where they filmed much of Requiem For a Dream. Never ever going to do drugs after that movie. The Ferris Wheel on the right is none other then the Coney Island Ferris Wheel....wwwaaarrriiiorrrsssss...cccomee ooutt too pllaaaaaaeeeyyy!  WARRRRIIIIOOORRRSSS. Such a great freaking movie.
That's what it looks like being me...At least when I look at my feet. Don't quite know why I took that one...

There is my wonderful father, Scott. From this moment on he will be called by his true name: Scooter. This is a wonderful picture of him being a jokster on the bus to the terminal at JFK.
There is my mom, Lorel, clearly very pleased with my dad's antics.....or maybe not.
There is the airplane I am going to get on too soon. If anyone has been to JFK they will know that it is kind of a dump. There are all these old remnants of airlines long since shut-down. They build new buildings around the old T.W.A. airlines terminal and just left it stuck in the middle of everything. It is a weird place. It is like a Frankenstein airport, old run down bits spliced together with new and futuristic parts. It is an interesting place.
There is the weather report for Orlando, Florida. It says 80 degrees and sunny as the forecast, which is freaking surprising. I lived in Florida for four months and not once was it 80 degrees and sunny. I can't keep that joke going, it is always sunny here and I love it. The snow in Montana was too much for me, and even that chilly Jersey wind was getting to me. I love nothing more then hot, humid weather, the cool pool ready to be swam in, and the friendly alligators waiting to greet me in the front yard.

Finally arrived, way better then last time traveling. Got on the first flight we tried for, and sat first class. God I love my dad's job. Thankfully, the flight was shorter then expected, and i was not forced to endure anymore Inception.
