Thoughts on Gunther (To lazy for umlaou... however it is spelled)

So I had completely forgotten about the true hilariousness that is Gunther and the Sunshine Girls. For those that do not know what I am talking about, cease reading immediately and look up "The Ding Dong Song" on Youtube. It is a little bit inappropriate, but considering the title it could be a lot worse.
So now I am just going to wait for you to watch it.
..............................................................................................................
..............................................................................................................
..............................................................................................................
..............................................................................................................
..............................................................................................................
All done?  Good!
Now you know what I am talking about. I found myself watching a bunch of Gunther videos and frankly; I was laughing my little butt off. In my laughter I was reminded of the past. A past that was among many things had a lot more laughter. Now it seems like I am going to go off on some whiny tangent about how much life sucks. Actually I am pretty much going to talk about squirrels. I hope you are at least a tad bit confused at this point. So anyways, back in the day (the day being 6th grade/7th Grade) my friends and I had some interesting tastes in music. Now you are saying "Yah, So who didn't at that age?" I would agree, between the AC/DC and Linkin Park arose something else. We basically had a collection of what I could only call "humor" songs. While they varied in subject matter, the large majority of them were recreations of songs to the tune of squirrels. The best example I can offer was the song "Girls" by the Beastie Boys. We had never heard of the Beastie Boys, and our version was called "Squirrels". It was sung at a very high pitch. To this day I do not know how we maintained our sanity listening to those stupid songs over and over again, but damn-it were they funny at the time.

At this age people do not do stuff like that. I think it is kind of a bummer. Some people find themselves too mature for such things. In fact I have had someone call me out for making a low brow and less than unique joke. They made sure to flex the point that they were far to mature for such a brand of humor. Do people like that know they are full of shit? or are they just in denial? These are truely the things I spend my days pondering. Back to the point of all of this. Rewatching the Gunther videos brought back a bit of my childhood. In no means do I want to be a child again; however I think someone who is truly mature will never go about asserting it to other people. So I guess I will ask you:

Who is more mature
A person who makes a "that's what she said joke"?
or
A person who chastises the other person about said joke, asserts their maturity, and then later on rudely interrupts a professor and a lecture hall full of people. Gossiping with their neighbor and slamming their desk up?

Look I made it an angry rant there at the end.
Throughout the course of this I had three different songs picked out: Gunther, then "Squirrels" and then Intergalactic Planetary. But, I now I am going to chose a different one.
"Oh what's that?"
"Yah I did choose another Coheed and Cambria song"
"Yes I know this is the third one"
"No I don't care."

Thoughts on Hurrr Durrrr Herp Derp derrr

Goddamn...
Computer science is one of the most frusturating thing on this planet. At first it's easy. The lines flow from my fingers like Leslie Nelson in Scary Movie.
(blog check list: clever movie reference CHECK)

After writing comes the finger crossing and the running. This step requires a lot less work, and a lot more hope. Not surprisingly the hope is always in vain. It never works the first time, and I don't think it should. But let me tell you when you stare at the same 10 lines of code for 2 hours until realizing that you have a > (greater than) instead of a < (less than), it sucks.
(blog check list: complain about something sucking CHECK)

Seen we are in the computer vein I wanted to talk about Grooveshark. I had obviously heard of Grooveshark, but it was a month or so ago that I discovered its true beauty and power. I mean it fills the spectacular void left by my inability to acquire music while on the University networks. I am actually very proud of my self, resisting that good old convert youtube to mp3 button. (by the way if you don't have that add-on you should get it,awesome). Grooveshark gives me almost every song I could ever need to listen too, granted I don't actually have them; but still. Another great thing about Grooveshark is that it allows me to artificially inflate my musical repertoire. I always felt like being "hip" to all those new, underground indie bands on the radar this week was just too difficult. It is way too time consuming to be that "music kid". I put up a decent effort, when I get the chance, but Grooveshark really helps. Grooveshark - "Helping you seem like a bigger hipster than you actually are since March 2006"
(blog check list: talk about hipsters and stuff CHECK)
(Also I looked up that March 2006 on Wikipedia....citing sources like a boss)

Well what is left.... rant or politics....
I chose you Rant-A-Chu...
This one is on country music, more or less. I am not talking like willie nelson country, not Johnny Cash country. Nay the rant is directed at this new Country. This sexy-tractor bullshit. Some kid posted a video on our UW-Madison class facebook page. To a song called red-solo cup. By Toby Keith. Now I am familiar with several Toby Keith songs. One in particular is called "Beer for My Horses". Now any actual Red-Blooded American ranch who needed his horses to work hard for him is probably not pumping his horses full of beer. Granted it is used as an old time cure for horses that do not sweat enough, I doubt Old Toby knew that. Keyword there being old... goddamn. This red solo cup video is ridiculous, the guy is walking around a college rager. He is 50 years old. What is he doing at a college age party. In the song he states (originally in a more rhythmical manner) that anyone who prefers to drink beer out of glass over a red solo cup does not have a pair of testicles. Last I checked sasparilla didn't come in a red solo cup.
(blog check list: rant CHECK)

I could go on for days about new country music and how I despise it. But to each their own I suppose!
Here... enjoy it...

Thoughts on Hypocrites

Well, Casey Anthony was acquitted on all the murder/manslaughter/child abuse charges today. I defiantly saw this coming, and you can ask my aunt if you don't believe me. She is a former lawyer, who lives in Orlando. She had fairly strong opinions about the whole thing, like most people who followed the case. I think the average person  is pretty furious as to the outcome of the whole thing, I also don't think the average person is very informed on the case, laws, and the way something like a capital murder case goes. Two things bother me about the way the average person responds to stuff like this. Firstly, they are shocked that she was found not guilty. They have seen the news and seen the pictures of poor Caylee. They want justice for this little girl, and the only person who really could have done it was Casey. SO HOW COULD SHE BE NOT GUILTY. Reasonable doubt it a term I think every person in this country could use a quick lesson on. While they are at it, perhaps brush up on their Innocent Until Proven Guilty. People in this country are so quick to convict and sentence a person before they even set foot in a court room. Doing this is both idiotic and pretty anti-American. We have the one of the best justice systems in the world, so don't spit on it by jumping to conclusions. The mob of cries for the death of Casey Anthony has grown to massive proportions through out the whole trial. Nancy Grace and others like her simply feed the fire, perpetuating the idea that Casey is obviously guilty, and is also evil and must get the death penalty. I think there was defiantly reasonable doubt clearly shown in the evidence, but I don't think that was the only thing that pushed the jury to their decision. I believe that they were very aware of public opinion, which was "Give  Casey the chair, she did it no doubt about it." I think they did not want to go along with the mob on this one. So in a way all the death mongering probably helped Casey in the end. Nothing like dumbasses helping sink their own ship. But for god sakes, she has been found not guilty, so saying stuff like "God, I hope someone kills her, she deserves to die," is idiotic and hypocritical. You hate her because you think she killed someone, and you suggest her being killed out side of legal process would be good. What you get to judge who deserves to live or die but she does not? The death penalty has its place, but perpetuating murder is just moronic. Stop being so dumb please.

Also, another thing a really really hate is when I am listening to some serious death metal or something, and someone is like "Oh my god what is this emo crap, turn it off, so emo." Cradle of Filth is not emo... So this is to show you what "emo" music is.

Thoughts on Hollywood Logic

Hokay so, the pictures are delayed another day because I went and saw the Green Lantern Movie. To start things off, Ryan Reynolds plays the exact same character in every movie. Conveniently it is one that I love. He is such a douche bag all the time, it is just hilarious to me. So Green Lantern in a nutshell = Space Police defend the galaxy with shiny green rings that harness the power of Will. Their mortal enemy is the Yellow guy who lives on fear. Ryan Reynolds becomes first human "Lantern" with much humbug from other Lanterns. Yellow guy attacks Earth after pawning Lantern Commando Squad. Ryan Reynolds and his girl friend shoot a missile or two at Yellow guy, fly into space and push fear guy into the sun. End.

Beyond the improbability of Intergalactic Space Police with shiny Will-power rings, the movie has some questionable moments. I am not being crazy or anything, what I mean is that there are parts of the film that just don't make sense. My High school film teacher always told me that when watching a film one has to suspend our disbelief. So we accept space police, Will vs Fear battle and rings of power. But then things get a tad ridiculous. So in a key moment in the film the Yellow Fear guy attacks Ryan and Blake (love interest) in some airplane hanger. Ryan is with out his ring and therefore powerless. As the yellow guy begins to such Ryan's soul out dementor style. Blake makes a clutch play and jumps on the computer and has the Fighter plane / Robot Drone launch two sidewinder rockets into the yellow guy. He screams in pain and recoils from the hanger. Logical? Well, this Yellow guy is the physical representation of fear. It has devoured the souls of billions of lifeforms, consumed whole planets and assimilated all of it into itself, growing ever stronger. The Elite group of Green Lanterns could not even phase it with their strongest ring pew pew pews. THAT'S COOL WE WILL JUST SHOOT A MISSILE AT IT. Later Ryan throws a gas tanker at it and blows it up in the things face. Again causing it noticeable pain and anguish. Like what the hell. You have a crazy cool idea about using ones strong will as a weapon and then resort to throwing a truck full of gas at it. How could a small explosion hurt a giant ethereal cloud of fear and dead souls, that is capable of intergalactic travel and originates from one of the most ancient and immortal beings in the entire galaxy? Hal, the cocky fighter pilot...that's how.
This song is awesome..

Gotta Have my Bowl, Gotta Have Cereal

Okay I freaking love cereal. I think it took me 19 years to finally realize it, but me and cereal are made for each other. I always knew I was really into milk, especially in the morning. Orange juice was never really my type and I really hated eggs. Eggs are horrible, if I eat a big greasy plate of eggs first thing in the morning it makes me absolutely sick. My stomach is not ready for that much protein and I don't really like the idea of eating what is basically a fetus. Throw abortion argument out the window for now, eating eggs is like 50% eating a fetus, a chicken fetus at that. But cereal, there is some good stuff. If you think back on every single conversation you have ever had with anyone; can you remember one person who did not like cereal? Not like "oh I do not like Cereal A, or Cereal B" but flat out dislikes cereal? NO because it is the best. You might not like all kinds of cereal, but there is most defiantly at least one kind of cereal that you will like, it is avoidable. The spectrum of cereal flavors is overwhelming and over lapping. I had this wonderful realization this morning... I opened the pantry and gazed upon my cereal choices. Now, obviously I have a greater spread available to me since I am an avid cereal eater, but roll with me. I saw before me Captain Crunch Peanut Butter Church, Coca Puffs, and Reese's Puffs. If I want delicious crunchy peanut butter cereal I can have CCPBC (Not part of  the Сою́з Сове́тских Социалисти́ческих Респу́блик) this sound like a part of the , if I want chocolate crunchy goodness I can have the Coca Puffs. This is where cereal gets super legit; if I want both I can just have Reese's Puffs. So basically every single combination of flavors existed in the cereal market. No other food has that much variety.
Another reason that cereal is better then any other breakfast food is that technically it exists in two states of matter simultaneously. I mean this scientifically and food-in-tifically. It is both hard food and drink at the same time. It is also more or less a solid an a liquid at the same time. If you think of cereal as one entity then it does exist in a bi-state state...state state state. I am out on quite a tangent but I just really love cereal. The best part has to be drinking the leftover milk at the end. Cereal, I know this isn't much but devoting my blog to you is the least I could do. You deserve better and I am humbled by your amazingness.

EDIT: I was stumbleing and found this: http://www.obviouswinner.com/obvwin/2011/6/6/surprise-breakfast-double-yolk-egg-filled-with-fetus-blood.html yah guy cracks a store bought egg on the frying pan and BAM double yolk/fetus with blood. Horrible.

Thoughts on Blind Acceptance

I have been slacking majorly in the blog post department, but tonight I have a good rant. The topic is Blind Acceptance, a term I have coined to describe a phenomenon that really really irks me. What it boils down to in at a base level is the idea that a large majority of people will agree with something if they hear about it enough. I notice that in areas like health issues, and being "eco-friendly", blind acceptance occurs at an all time high. These areas shall be the main topics that I will talk about. I just get so upset when people just regurgitate what they have learned, constantly suggesting that you should take part in something because it is right, or it is the healthier choice.

Probably the worst case of Blind Acceptance has got to be the whole "High Fructose Corn Syrup" issue. Before I get into let me just preface by saying, Obesity is a huge problem in America and the reason for it is our diet. There are far to many calories in the food we eat. That being said I am so tired of hearing "High Fructose Corn Syrup" is the cause of obesity, it is a horrible refined sugar that is terrible for you. BUY this version of Stupid-Product, it has ZERO high fructose corn syrup. REAL ALL NATURAL SUGAR. The scientific fact is that High Fructose Corn Syrup is 99% the same as any other sugar out there. Fructose is the real name for Cane Sugar and it is no better for you then HFCS. There is a minuscule difference in the way your body metabolizes HFCS but it is insignificant. What happened was the Obesity Epidemic occurred and companies like Pepsi, Coke and other junk food peddlers started to take some serious flak for the high level of sugar in their products. Knowing how blind and ignorant a large majority of people are they started making the switch to "Real Cane Sugar". Pepsi Throw-Back is basically the best example of this. Ironically I think Throw-Back has way more sugar in it then normal Pepsi. So the smear campaign against HFCS continued on and people looked towards all natural cane sugar as the sweet tasting savior. Lately I have seen Corn Syrup commercials that are trying to inform people that it is not some evil sugar demon, let's hope it works.

As for being Eco-Friendly, this one really gets me. I am not as informed here so I will admit a lot of this will be opinion. Since I tend to be untrustworthy of people who are in the business of making money, and sometimes have a pessimistic streak my outlook can sometimes be bleak. Anyways, a couple of years ago consumers in America had an onslaught of eco-friendly products unleashed on them. It became the new thing to advertise that your product was eco-friendly. Whether you used less materials to create the packaging or you used less damaging chemicals in the creation of your product, green was definitely IN. I diverge here to again clarify somethings. I am not an idiot, I do agree that many companies have gone green, using less and have less waste is a great thing. I just think that many companies just jumped on the bandwagon, made GREEN claims and rode the profit wave that ensued.  I am referring to companies such as Arrowhead Water; a year or two ago they came out with a new design for their plastic water bottles. It was slimmer and each bottle proudly proclaimed that it was made with 20% less plastic. Well isn't that great. The company that uses and obscene amount of paper and plastic to sell tap water in tiny amounts has reduced the amount of plastic used to make each bottle. They are still contributing heavily to the pollution death machine running rampant across the world. But, not many people think that way, most are excited by Arrowhead's progressiveness. They happily support a company so invested in protecting the environment.

All I can say is do some research before you believe everything you hear! Don't just blindly accept things to be facts cause you hear them all the time and they seem like they are "good"
Night Night Folks...
Here is a great tune about those people I mentioned, the ones who have businesses in the business of making MONEY! I think it is also about Clear channel, a group that controls and censors songs and artists on radio stations. They deem what is safe music for people to hear. You know how me and Leftover Crack feel about that. It has a long intro...be patient...it is definitely worth it.

Thoughts on People who are Idiots

Oh man, I feel a rant coming. But just to be safe I am going to censor out names and key subjects so that I could really be ranting about anything. So in the wake of Event A and the ensuing storm of Thing A, I am reminded about a much more centralized version of Thing A. I go and check up on Thing B, since I have not checked it out in quite some time. My mother had told me of a quite, well, comical bit of text on Thing B. I proceeded to check it out, and sure enough I chuckled. Then I got really pissed off. Upon further research on Topic 1, I find that nothing has changed with Thing B. The people who work for Thing B are clearly incompetent, or are not concerned in any way about the quality of Thing B. I see so many parallels between Thing A and Thing B, it is sickening. I feel that all people involved in both the Things are motivated entirely by self-interest. They focus only on gaining attention and inevitable money. They could give 2 Sh!%$ about how their actions might effect the world and it disgusts me. In the end Thing A and Thing B are really one in the same. Let us call them Super-Thing.

I think the worst part about Super-Thing is that its existence is based solely on the fact the Unintelligent People feed the Super-Thing. They are blinded by Super-Thing's "knowledge" and they blindly follow it's every command. Now I am not saying that all people's are part of Unintelligent, there are plenty that see Super-Thing for what it really is. Unfortunately, Unintelligent exist in large enough numbers to support the Super-Thing, so it continues on. I hate all of them. They bring only bad to the world, and only serve to insight conflict between people. I wish people would be so much more moderate in their thinking. Being so stuck in one mind set blinds people from the truth. People need to wake up and see what is really going on.

Rant over. Sorry if it does not make sense. If any of you still read this in a year or two remind me and I'll explain it.

Thoughts on the "Royal Wedding"

It was not that long ago...TRY TO REMEMBER!

Hokay...so I am going to rant now and I shall place my cross-hairs on this whole royal wedding thing we have all heard so much about. My first (and I think strongest point) is Why does anybody care about it? Especially people here in America. Last I checked we fought a revolutionary war just to get away from those damn British monarchs and now everyone here is shivering with excitement over watching their wedding on TV, YouTube and god knows where else. I am pretty sure that God gives websites and TV channels the birthright to air the Wedding. Not every common TV channel can air the royal wedding. Sorry sidetracked by sarcasm...Back to the point. We live in America and since the Monarchs in Britain are more or less all for show, why do we even care. All they are over-hyped movies stars just with WAY more money and more fans. Give it a year or so and I bet they will have their own reality TV show and the Princess will have her own perfume line.

Beyond the question of why we care about the British Monarchy is the question of why the British Monarchy still exists. I am by no means an expert in European History (I opted for AP Biology instead DUH), but I know a bit about the History of our country, the History of the world and A fair bit about WWII. It was my recollection that their was a pretty massive uprising against the Monarchical system of government, and for good reason. When a mass of very poor angry people are ruled by a small group of extremely rich elitists, well, people get beheaded. French, Russia and USA all overthrow or in our case rebelled against are Monarch rulers and it was always bloody. From those rebellions were born more effective and fair systems of government. The United Kingdom has a perfectly good system of government. They just decided to keep the monarchs around for whatever reason. How could you not want to idolize the universal symbol for tyranny, oppression and horrendous financial imbalance. I am sure others exist but to my knowledge the U.K. and Suadi Arabia are the only countrys that still have kings and queens, so that is good I suppose. My mom said they are good Monarchs now and that they do a whole lot of good charity work. I am guessing if Willy and Kate eloped and got married in a tiny chapel alone and donated all the wedding money to charity, hungry people all over the world could be eating wonderfully, I imagine they could even afford cake.

The sun never sets on the telecast of the Royal Wedding...
Not the most original, but it fit so well, had to be done.
