So today was day off, some old friends came down from NYC for some good new-fashioned time at the Jersey Shore. After the dentist visit (my teeth are pretty good at being teeth apperentally...) we went over to Brick Beach #1 and set up beach camp. It was a cloudy day, a fairly strong wind was blowing. Not exactly prime weather for my first summer day at the Shore. There were probably five other people at the beach, every one wa very non-chalant. So I walk out into the water, the icy cold water wading around my ankles, as I survey the vast expanse of sea I see a black flicker in my proliferal vision. Now I am not sure if I have explained this but me and the ocean have a deal. Basically we are chill as long as I am no more then like 10 feet out and there is no living marine life near me. This flash of movement really freaked me out. I did not say anything at first, I was not sure I saw anything and did not want to be a "sissy". I slowly back out of the water and watch the area where I saw the thing. All of a sudden...yeah WHALE. There is a freaking whale like 20 feet of the shore and this thing breaches the surface and spouts a huge plume of water. It dives back under and swims up the coast. We followed it for awhile and basked in the beauty of it all. It had to be at least 15 ft long, I am no Whaleologist, but it looked like a Humpback Whale. Not sure but either way it was, for lack of better words, a legit whale. Pretty intense first trip to the shore.
After that we went to Seaside Heights. It was crowded, trashy and dirty. Like the TV show. So to complete the tile of the Blog..."OHHHHHHH WWHHAAAALLLLEEEE!!!!" You will notice that is in quotations, if anyone can tell me what that quote is from..I will give you 100 Internets.

Thoughts on the Jersey Shore some more...
Yes that rhymed...and yes it was on purpose. Mom,Dad and I went walking on the boardwalk today, since the weather was very permitting. We all drove out to Seaside Heights, the home of the Jersey Shore TV show. If you have not noticed being the location of Jersey Shore is pretty much the only thing this area has going for it. That and having the most strip malls per square mile then any other city in the USA. I have heard that from a couple of people, not sure if it is true, but if not the most then it is most definitely second or third. I swear they just built roads. Then on both sides they built crappy shopping malls and filled them with Pizza shops, gyms, nail salons and grocery stores. It goes like that for miles! pizza, gym, salon, grocery, pizza, gym, salon, and on and on. After they built all that, all the people who owned and worked at said stores built houses. That my friends is how Brick New Jersey came to be. After awhile all the original owners retired, so a dozen retirement communities were built to house the retired owners.
Wow, lost track of the point there a bit. So we were walking on THE Jersey Shore boardwalk. Past all the booths and food stands from the show. I must say, looks like a pretty fun place to go in the summer. It was only half open but they seem to have a lot of fun activities there. We walked past the "Shore Shack" and the people there were preparing for the summer season. I walked right past the guy who owns the store, THE ONE FROM THE SHOW! Yes, I walked right past someone who had a somewhat regular role on a popular television show. Most exciting thing that has happened to me in quite some time.

Thoughts on the Jersey Shore *a different part*
I went outside today, and it felt like Florida. But wait, last I checked I was in New Jersey. No, I had not been kidnapped, teleported or in anyway moved. It was actually nice in New Jersey. It was in the 80s and humid out. My mother and I were sooo excited that we rushed to the Jersey Shore. No, not the Seasides Heights trashy part. A different boardwalk that was a lot nicer, less corny as well. We walked up and down, people watched and got pizza. I came to the conclusion that I should get my ears pierced, because every other 18 or so guy had them...JK LOL like I would ever do that. Other then that pretty uneventful day. My brother ended up in the hospital after kneeing himself in the face. If I left this unexplained it sounds like my brother is quite the idiot. But there is actually a reason why he kneed himself in the face. Being a proskier and all, he missed his landing and hit the flat...knee + chin = WIN!
